About The Game

The Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League game is played on a regulation-sized hockey rink covered with artificial turf. The goals measure eight by 14 feet wide and are recessed into the end boards.

The CMISL provides its fans with end-to-end action by virtue of its scoring system which features one and three-point goals and rules designed to encourage an offensive rather than defensive style of play.

Goals scored on a penalty kick and from inside the three-point line are worth a single point while any ball shot into the net from outside the three-point line counts as three points on the scoreboard.

Each side is comprised of six players, including the goalkeeper. Players can change on the fly and, in some situations, penalized teams will be required to play a man short for the duration of the penalty.

CMISL games are comprised of four 15-minute quarters while doubleheaders feature two games with each contest consisting of two 20-minute halves.
