Calgary United FC to open CMISL season with mile high expectations

Edmonton, AB - The Calgary United FC will open their season Saturday night against the Denver Dynamite at the Calgary soccer center. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm. All children under 18 wearing their CMSA club jerseys will be admitted for free to this game, and the rematch which will be played on Sunday at 1pm. Tickets will be available at the door both days (including season tickets)

Calgary owner Chris Baker expects a highly competitive match as the Denver squad boasts a line-up full of ex MISL (major indoor soccer league) players. Denver may have a more experienced squad but Baker suggests that “they may not be accustomed to the smaller playing surface, different ball and smaller nets.” Baker feels “this may give us the home field advantage.”
